Position: Travel Line Cook
About the Role:
Sharp Spoon Network is building a team of skilled Line Cooks ready to bring consistency and quality to kitchens nationwide. We're seeking experienced cooking professionals who can jump into any station, maintain high standards under pressure, and adapt to diverse culinary environments.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, specifications, and plating standards
- Manage assigned stations during service, including sauté, grill, fry, or garde manger
- Execute dishes with consistency, speed, and attention to detail
- Set up and stock stations before service with all necessary ingredients and tools
- Maintain proper cooking temperatures and food safety standards throughout service
- Coordinate with other line cooks to ensure smooth kitchen flow and timely ticket times
- Communicate clearly with front-of-house staff and kitchen team
- Keep work areas clean and organized during and after service
- Assist with prep work and kitchen duties as needed
- Adapt quickly to new menus, recipes, and kitchen systems
- Support kitchen setup and breakdown for event or temporary operations
What We're Looking For:
- Demonstrated experience as a line cook in professional kitchens
- Solid understanding of cooking techniques, temperatures, and timing
- Ability to work multiple stations and handle high-volume service
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure
- Team-focused attitude with clear communication abilities
- Physical stamina to work on your feet for extended periods in a hot kitchen environment
- Willingness to travel regularly for assignments across multiple locations
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver's license required
Preferred:
- Experience in catering, banquet, or event cooking
- Familiarity with various cuisine styles
- Food handler's certification
