Position: Travel Prep Cook
About the Role:
Sharp Spoon Network is looking for reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cooks to join our traveling culinary team. We need skilled kitchen professionals who take pride in quality preparation work and are ready to support exceptional culinary operations across the country.
What You'll Do:
- Execute prep work including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and specifications
- Prepare stocks, sauces, and other kitchen fundamentals as directed
- Set up and organize prep stations for efficient service
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation practices
- Keep prep areas clean, sanitized, and well-organized throughout shifts
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines
- Communicate effectively with chefs and kitchen team members
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
- Support kitchen operations during service as needed
- Help with kitchen setup and breakdown for temporary assignments
- Adapt to different kitchen layouts and workflows
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar kitchen role
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and knife skills
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow directions and work efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Team player with a positive attitude and solid work ethic
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- Willingness to travel regularly for assignments
- Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver's license required
Preferred:
- Experience in high-volume or catering environments
- Food handler's certification
