Position: Travel Sous Chef
About the Role:
Sharp Spoon Network is seeking skilled Sous Chefs ready to take their culinary careers on the road. We're looking for organized, versatile kitchen professionals who can step into diverse culinary operations and help deliver outstanding results for our clients nationwide.
What You'll Do:
- Support kitchen operations by overseeing food preparation, cooking, and plating across all stations
- Assist with menu planning and execution based on client requirements and available resources
- Coordinate daily kitchen activities including prep work, service flow, and station management
- Train and guide kitchen staff to maintain quality and consistency
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health code standards
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization throughout service
- Step into leadership roles as needed in the absence of the Executive or Head Chef
- Adapt quickly to new kitchen layouts, equipment, and team dynamics
- Support setup and breakdown of temporary kitchen operations
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior line cook in professional kitchens
- Culinary education or equivalent practical experience
- Strong foundational knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
- Working knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards
- Team-oriented mindset with solid communication skills
- Flexibility to work in various kitchen environments and locations
- Available for regular travel assignments
- Open schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver's license required
Preferred:
- Experience in catering, events, or multi-location operations
- Additional language capabilities
